Here comes the election again –
this time it is for the upper house of the parliament. You might hear very soon
that this election is not valid because the Central Vista project is not yet
started – you might be thinking what does Central vista project has to do with
Rajya Sabha’s election, then I will say exactly the same connection when we did
the announcement of Demonetization and the Lockdown in the country where we did
not thought about the consequences will be faced by the innocent countrymen. Our
beloved orator appeared on the Television and gave a sermon in which he
preached people of this country with his words of wisdom.
Most of us are aware what is
going on in the state of Rajasthan and Gujrat in connection with the Rajya
Sabha’s poll as of now – horse trading has started and the opposition and
ruling party of both the states are running around with their MLAs so that they
achieve the desire results. Unfortunately again it is a Congress Party who is
doing this again. As far as moral code of conduct is concern this kind of dirty
practices should not adopted by any political party anywhere in the country. But
???????
What is the code of conduct to
elect an MP for Rajya Sabha. The elected members of Rajya Sabha are chosen
through the system of “proportional representation by means of single transferable
vote” through the open ballot. The open ballot was introduced to replace the secret
ballot, by amending the Representation of People Act. 1951 and the Conduct of
Electoral Rules 1961. Open Ballot system means that every elector belonging to
a political party ha to show his marked ballot paper to the authorized representative
of his political before inserting into ballot box. Open ballot system was introduced
to avoid horse trading or cross voting. The minimum number of vote required to
get elected is = total number of MLAs in the state +1 / Vacancy + 1
Now it is technically impossible
to do a cross voting so the new idea has been developed by the powerful
political party to buy the MLA and MLA will give his/her resignation from the
Legislature and you will achieve your desired result. This is a clear case of
bypassing the people’s mandate? When you are in the power you manipulate the
laws according to your vims and fancies but just imagine what reputation those
public representatives are gaining. I know who cares….. By god’s grace we have
won the election and luckily got an opportunity to make some extra money why
not to go for it. I think this would have been the mindset of those MLAs who
have resigned from Madhya Pradesh Assembly in March this year and probably they
must be thinking of another opportunity to get reelected this time on ruling
party’s ticket. In the recent past when we were under the lockdown PM urged the
public to donate in his new PM care a/c and people did donated with open heart because
it was to strengthen the hands of the government so that they can fight against
the present pandemic. There is another conspiracy theory which is going on that
is why we or the government needed a new a/c when it already has an PM relief
fund. Probably the original relief fund a/c has an accountability and because
of which you can’t achieve your desired ambition fulfilled and that could be
the reason of the present government to open up a new account and god knows
what is been done with that money which has been donated by the countrymen.
The time is coming for the permanent
solution to stop this kind of felonious practice from the face of Indian
democracy but for this - people of the country have to rise in the form of
ballot. Do remember if you will not rise now you’ll never be able to stand up
again. A lot has to do if we really want to live in a democratic country in
true sense. Power corrupts and it certainly has corrupted the present ruling
party of our country. Stop making fool of us you never know when the time will
slip out of your hands but I know by that time probably they will do an irreparable
damage to this country – we still have time we have to wake up again and have
to teach the lesson to the so called torch bearers of democracy.
